Typology idea generation

So the outlined perimeters to the first brief was to create an A2, portrait illustrated Typology poster with any theme of our choosing . The resolution had to be produced in monochrome, analogue media & methods.

With this i started sketching up some ideas, ten lists that were:
- Musical acts
-Song names illustrated
-Random characters cuz why not
-Movies
-A characters load out
-Cocks
-Die Antwoord apparel
-Things that go bump in the night
-Rat-race (Business man animal hybrids)
-Useless superheroes

As per usual for this kind of process, some of the ideas were almost instant throw aways, but still were important in their role of getting me in the swing of things. Here are some highlights.

Random characters cuz why not

So, lets face it, not the most interesting of ideas, being thematically quite dull and random. I opted to still highlight this segment though as it was a real turning point, loosening my work and getting me in the right mindset, simply put, it was fun to create.

A characters load out

So another somewhat random idea, but this time theres a theme behind it making for a more engaging outcome.

Useless superheroes

Another fun outcome, but if im being completely honest, lost all steam when i saw that quite a few others within the class were dancing around similar ideas, i do think some of the ideas deserve further development in my spare time though.

Things that go bump in the night

One of my first ideas when pitched the brief, i wanted to create monsters that resembled, or were a physical representation, of ways to die. Again, another outcome that wasn't consistently to a level that i was pleased with, but some of the monsters generated deserve further development.

Rat-Race

One that i wasnt too pleased with but seemed to go down quite well with my peers, i will admit that if i was to recreate the hybrids in a detailed and rendered manner, the outcome would probably be quite humorous, still, bigger and better things on my mind!

Die antwoord apparel

Somewhat of an extension from the character idea, this time i based the idea on an existing band....that are bat shit insane (in my humble opinion) and would look just right in the most random outfits i could think of.

Cocks

The idea i chose to pursue (spoilers). I had the most fun working with the cockerel character, enjoyed the imagery, and it always garnered the best reaction from my peers, an obvious choice in my opinion.
