Gif 1: 3D outcome

So, as you know, i've already had a stab at the 3D ideas, but never really truly decided upon an idea. Although i did put a lot of thought in to it, the puppet beast would have looked blocky, un refined and silly, so i thought of a gif that would concentrate on only the face of the beast. This means i would need to either create a mask or simple cutout of the face.

With the mask i would be able to create a moveable jaw and have the beast scream at the screen, but i then realised that, despite a simple cutout of the head seeming to be a lazier option, it was actually the best. See with this i can cut out the eye, having another sheet behind the opening with a pupil to move around, as though the beast is looking around.

As you can see above i tested how the jaw and eye would look and, working fine, i made the final outcome, using yellow card and a new tool of mine, Posca paint markers!

And here it is, an outcome that i am very happy with. My only qualm is with the scream at the end, it didn't seem ferocious enough, so i added some blur effects as though the screen is shaking with the force of the scream. But negative aspects aside, it totally captures the horror movie, creature introduction vibe i was going for, indicating that the character is most probably an enemy. I got this by, firstly, filming in a pitch black room, and secondly, cutting the occasional frame to make the movements jumpier. this gives me an outcome i'm happy to show to others.
