Boy was this one unnecessarily a task, i just really did't enjoy it, and got a bit wound up in the process. I guess it starts with the literal zilch experience i have with making collage imagery with a concentration on texture, its not something iv'e really had an interest in making, and i hate to say making this image didn't really have me eager to approach it again. But, there is the matter of not really having had done any research personally on practitioners that make this style of imagery, so there could be hope yet, possibly i just need that work that gets me excited. Another little note, i didn't realise at the time, but i only ended up using ink and paper based textures, i should have found reason to use some of my paint based texture results.
EDIT
So, speaking of possibly needing a practitioner that'll get me excited about the use of textural samples, i may have found someone. His name is Jeffrey Allan Love and he makes these little silhouettes of primarily demonic looking warriors. He hardly ever strays from using just paper with sponged paint for texture and red highlights, but his work is still so atmospheric, i guess the rough, shadowy finish just goes hand in hand with the character he's presenting to us. Im certainly a fan.
