Self initiated comic: Back in to the comic

Jumping back in to the self initiated brief now, Im going to use the Image comic’s submission parameters to create the brief. They pretty much require you to have a strong idea of the overarching plot of your comic, and a recommended amount of around five complete pages of the comic as a stylistic indication. Heres what the page actually says:

"Photocopies of fully inked and lettered sequential story art pages (any size, but no character sketches or bios). DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL ART as your work will not be returned. Please include a minimum of five pages that are fully inked and lettered. We may make suggestions based off these, but we are primarily concerned with your understanding of the medium and how to tell a sequential story. Color is OPTIONAL. If you have a colorist and plan on this being a colored book, it would be advisable, we may suggest a different colorist if we decide to acquire the project.

A cover mock-up—this lets us know whether or not you understand the market and gives us a good barometer on your design sense. With creator approval, this may go through a redesign if we decide to acquire your project."

The story is there for me at this point, a world where humanity retreated to floating golden cities to escape a monster problem on the surface of earth. This is achieved through a modification to gold, giving it anti gravitational abilities, and allowing it to be used as an energy source. Because of gold playing such a key role in the story, it will be called "The Golden Age".

The section I am going to showcase, will feature the two protagonists of the story, and an encounter with one of the beasts. This means that for my development stage, I need to create two characters, a race of creature and a world. Got to really maintain a focus and work on what is required, a task like this cant really afford additions to the planning that will only be thrown away.
